The athletic carried out the students’ project for the first time in the open campus day, August 8 and 9.

The content of the event was putting up and distributing the list which told the clubs’ practice time and field during the open campus day in front of Media Center and Library. Until last year, many high school students asked about the clubs, for example, “we want to visit not only facilities but also clubs.” or “we don’t know when, where and what kind of clubs are active.” This event was projected as one which solve these opinions. They gathered the clubs which cooperated with the athletic, set up booths in front of Media Center and Library and made the list which told the practice time and field.

Full Use of Career in OCU

For instance, if there is a basketball learning party in the open campus day and a person who played basketball in high school become acquainted with various high school students, their conversation may liven up about their graduate schools. Visiting the open campus day means that they may become an OCU student in the future. We could do a welcome party for new students, a little ahead.

Let me take an example. Boy basketball club carries out the event for the high school students.(that is not an event for the open campus day) Thanks to carrying out the event, some study hard and enter OCU to become a boy basketball club member. That result in the strengthening of the club. (By the way, I have played against the OCU basketball club when I was a Osaka Prefecture University student. To be sure, they were strong. I didn’t know they try hard to gain the members and to strength the club.)

Secret of Strength is Unity

Clubs and circles are very important in a university life. Personally, I have more acquaintances in the clubs and the circles than in my faculty. What’s more, through experiences in the clubs, we can not only go through the club activities but also get various skills, for instance, the communication ability or one of trying hard something. Not only the operating committee but also the members of the clubs which belong to the athletic came to help in the open campus day. I felt the very strong unity of the athletic when I talked with them. I think they created it through their club activities.

It is pity to give only the faculty introductions to high school students who came all the way to OCU in the open campus day. “Why don’t the association of music and culture clubs also do such an event?”, a member of the athletic operating committee said. How about projecting an event as the quadripartite contact conference?
